A frequency spectrum is a range of frequencies used for radio/wireless communication. Different generations of mobile networks operate on different frequency spectra, i.e. frequency ranges, i.e. they work with different frequency bandwidths. The frequency channel width directly relates to the maximum data rates (capacity).
Public mobile networks in the Republic of Croatia use the following frequency bands: 700 MHz, 800 MHz, 900 MHz, 1800 MHz, 2100 MHz, 2600 MHz, 3.5 GHz, and 26 GHz.
The term frequency range implies the frequency of the transmitted signal. Frequencies below 6 GHz are usually used for the lower and middle-frequency bands of mobile networks. Roughly speaking, the frequency channel width is about two orders of magnitude lower than the frequency contained by a signal.
