Massive Machine-Type Communication (mMTC) is a new type of 5G service designed for communication between machines (IoT devices) over wired or wireless networks with minimal or no human intervention.
IoT devices are specific because they do not have special QoS requirements, i.e. the only important thing is to provide access to a service to as many devices as possible. This type of service should support communication in smart cities and smart factories.
