The Croatian Regulatory Authority for Network Industries HAKOM has received a total of five requests to participate in the public auction procedure for the rights to use the radio spectrum at the national level.
In a statement, it says that the bidding process for the frequency bands 800 MHz, 900 MHz, 1800 MHz, 2100 MHz, 2600 MHz and 3600 MHz will start on January 16, 2023. It adds that all the necessary conditions for participation in the public auction were met by telcos A1 Croatia, Hrvatski Telekom, and Telemach Croatia.
Meanwhile, for the 3600 MHz frequency band, all the necessary conditions for participation in the public auction procedure at the regional (county) level were met by Digicom and Markoja.
HAKOM previously stated that the RF spectrum licenses for the frequency bands that are the subject of this allocation procedure and are utilized for mobile communications networks of all generations (2G, 3G, 4G, 5G) expire at the end of 2023.
