Chinese tech giant Huawei has unveiled its “5.5G” intelligent core network solution, according to the company’s official announcement.
George Gao, president of Huawei Cloud Core Network product line, emphasized the need for future mobile networks to be deterministic, offering features such as 10 Gbps downlink, 1 Gbps uplink, up to 100 billion IoT connections, harmonized communication and sensing, and native intelligence.
The new core network solution incorporates intelligence and intent-driven technologies, aiming to assist operators in developing intelligent services, networks, and operations and maintenance (O&M).
The 5.5G Core introduces digital assistant and digital expert capabilities, improving efficiency and fault analysis in the core network. Huawei believes that 5.5G technology will play a crucial role in expanding connectivity for industrial applications, enabling wireless production and flexible manufacturing.
The company plans to launch a complete set of commercial 5.5G network equipment in 2024.
