Last week, Croatia started a real digital transformation. Namely, the completion of the public auction for the 5G spectrum created the last precondition for the implementation of the next-generation network technology.
Croatia raised almost HRK 359 million at the public auction for 5G frequencies, significantly exceeding the initial expectation of HRK 300 million in concession fees for the use of the spectrum for the new generation network.
The public auction has been completed and the 700 MHz, 3600 MHz and 26 GHz bands were awarded at the national level, and 3600 MHz at the regional level.
The White House confirmed that US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan had urged Brazil not to use Huawei Technologies equipment in developing its 5G telecommunications net-work.
Global revenue from 5G network infrastructure will grow 39 percent to a total of $19.1 billion this year, according to the latest forecast by Gartner Analytics.
In just three months, from April to the end of June, 50.1 million smartphones were sold in Europe, so total sales increased by a whopping 14 percent compared to the same period in 2020.
Samsung is still the leader in the smartphone market, however, for the first time in history, Chinese Xiaomi took second place in terms of sales, pulling ahead of Apple – according to reports from the analyst firm Canalys.
