Today marks the official launch of the Xiaomi 13 and 13 Pro around the world, beginning with a launch event at Mobile World Congress (MWC). The 13 series phones, each equipped with top-tier Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipsets and Leica co-branded cameras, were unveiled in China late last year. Judging by previous releases, they won’t be coming to the US, but will be available in the UK, Europe and the rest of Asia.
As the phones’ specifications have been public since December, there are no surprises here, but here’s the summary: both are upper-midrange phones, but the 13 Pro stands out because it has a 1-inch sensor borrowed rom the Xiaomi 12S Ultra with 120W wired fast charging.
Both come equipped with 120Hz fast-refresh OLEDs; the 13 has a smaller 1080p 6.3-inch display and the 13 Pro has a 6.7-inch 1440p LTPO screen. Each device has 50W wireless charging compatibility and an IP68 grade for water and dust protection.
The Xiaomi 13 and 13 Pro will be on sale from March 8 through the company’s official retail channels, at a price of 999 and 1,299 euros, respectively.
