For several days, more than a hundred thousand users of A1 Croatia wondered whether their personal data, such as personal ID number and address, would be misused. The telco reacted promptly to the unpleasant attack and immediately started solving security problems and contacting affected users.
The telecommunications company A1 Croatia has confirmed today that it was exposed to a cyber attack, as a result of which the personal data of 10% of its users were breached, more specifically, their names and surnames, addresses, personal identification numbers, and phone numbers.
The Croatian Regulatory Authority for Network Industries (HAKOM) has confirmed that A1 Croatia reported the incident in the form of unauthorized access to the user base and the threat of publishing unauthorized data. The telco must now contact all users whose personal data has potentially been breached.
