According to Bloomberg News, Instagram, owned by Meta Platforms, is planning to launch a new text-based application that will directly compete with Twitter.
“We’re exploring a standalone, decentralized social network for sharing text updates,” a Meta spokesperson said in a statement to Variety.
“I’m guessing probably towards the end of the year would be good timing to find someone else to run the company.”
